Data Sign-Off and Accountability

ESG Data Toolkit

Data Sign-Off and Accountability

Two key principles ESG reporting are transparency and accountability. These two components are a critical part of the governance of any organisation, and from a crutial part of the strategy governing all data in the ESG toolkit.

Signoff and Accountability
Signoff

The ESG Data Toolkit offers an unlimited hierarchical sign-off system. This enables the person initially responsible for capturing the data (the data capturer) to enter the data and for that data to be validated all the way up the hierarchical sign-off chain. In other words, person X captures the data and signs the data off. This triggers an email to their boss who signs off the data. This sign-off triggers an email to the corporate office user who validates and signs off the data before any data is used for public reporting purposes.

Audit Trail

In addition to this, a fully functional audit trail keeps track of every change made in the system, including the user that made the change, user location, time of the change, and the change made.
